Gil Ureño is a master’s level, limited licensed psychologist with over 28 years experience working with individuals and couples. He has been published in professional journals and is a co-author of The Inventory of Interpersonal Problems – a psychometric instrument widely used in psychotherapy outcome research. Gil is a graduate of both Stanford University and The University of Michigan. He received specialized training in mood disorders at the Depression Clinic through the University of Michigan’s Department of Psychiatry, as well as couples counseling training through the Marital Clinic at the former University of Michigan’s Riverview Clinic. He uses both the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) in his approach with couples. Additionally, Gil is fluent in Spanish.
Jason Hicks is a licensed master’s level social worker with 15 years’ experience working at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Ann Arbor as a psychotherapist and couples’ counselor.
He is certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) as a sex therapist. He obtained his sex therapy training through the University of Michigan’s Sexual Health Program. Jason has also received specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). He has completed additional training in cognitive behavior therapy at the Beck Institute. He also has additional training in Integrative Behavioral Couples’ Therapy (IBCT). Jason obtained his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University and his graduate degree from Wayne State University.
